19 LTTE dead bodies recovered: One LTTE leader among killed

ARMY troops on continuous search and clear operations in liberated areas of Karayanmullivaikkal collected 19 LTTE dead bodies from the area on yesterday (13). One senior LTTE fighting cadre identified as 'Kannikkaran' was among the dead, SL Army said.

In addition, 21 T-56 weapons, 01 12.7mm weapon, 01 MPMG (Multi Purpose Machine Gun), 01 Light Machine Gun (LMG), 01 FNC Weapon, 01 12.7mm gun barrel, 03 claymore mines each weighing about 12.5 kg, 01 disposable RPG (Rocket Propeller Grenade), 01 improvised mortar launcher and 02 I-Com radio sets were also recovered from the same area.

Meanwhile, troops operating in the general areas of Visuamadu and Udayarkattukulam in Millathiu and Nachchikuda and Chenpankundu in Kilinochchi found 01 MPMG, 01 MPMG drum, 104 MPMG links with 50 ammunition, 02 MPMG top covers, 51 anti personnel mines, 11 60mm mortar bombs, 02 booby traps, 03 T -56 weapons, 07 T-56 magazines, 25 TNT slabs weighing about 475g, 35 electric detonators, 06 RPG bombs, 21 Out Board Motors and one hand grenade on yesterday
