Investigations into LTTE’s assets by International Intelligence unit

Investigations to track down the international and local assets network of the LTTE outfit’s have been undertaken by the International Intelligence.

The international Intelligence unit has requested the support of the CID and Intelligence unit in Sri Lanka. It is reported that although the LTTE terror outfit is no longer stable, K.P or Pathmanathan is still the in charge of its assets. He is collecting ransom from the Tamil people who are living abroad.

It was also reported that K.P and his followers have threatened those who have refused to give the ransom (money) while several complaints were made to the International Police in this regard. The process of collecting ransom from the Tamils abroad is underway in several countries and the money so collected is spent on some of the LTTE representatives.

This has led to the investigations on the LTTE’s assets and their accounts are reliably understood.
