Notorious KP Had Plastic Surgery to Avoid Arrest

THE internationally notorious arms procurer who was regarded the disputed successor, KP alias SELVARASA PATHMANATHAN alias SHANMUGAM KUMARAN THARMALINGAM alias K. PATHMANATHAN alias KUTTI MASTER alias KUTTI SRI alias THARMALINGAM SHANMUGAM KUMARAN alias THAMBIAH SELVARAJA alias KALUDAI alias PERIYADURAI alias SADASIVAM DHARMALINGAM alias many other names has been arrested and brought down to Sri Lanka, Defence officials confirmed.

This self-appointed LTTE leader who is in the INTERPOL’s most wanted list for arms smuggling and a spate of criminal activities remained the long term arms procurer for their terrorist organization and late VELUPILLAI PRABHAKARAN.

KP has been using more than four passports including one that has been issued from Sri Lanka. All other passports were from UK and India and different names have been used for those documents. In March 1991 an additional booklet has also been issued from BANGKOK.

KP was reportedly earning billions of overseas money from LTTE fund raising activities and held responsible for conspiring the assassination of Indian Prime Minister RAJIV GANDHI in 1991 and many other prominent politicians and military leaders in Sri Lanka.

After the death of LTTE leader, PRABHAKARAN and his cronies, KP came to the fore as shadow LTTE leader who had been reportedly operating from THAILAND. KP was absconding for many years and instrumental in propagating misleading news on Sri Lanka through LTTE and pro LTTE international media wings. However, KP’s succession as LTTE leader was disputed while he was trying to revive the LTTE organization overseas.

He was one of the most wanted terrorists in India on charges of arms smuggling, assassination of RAJIV GANDHI, violation of the Indian Terrorist Act and the Indian Explosive Act.

Born on 6th April 1955 in MYLADY, KANKESANTHURAI, JAFFNA, he belonged to the KARAYAR caste in the Tamil caste hierarchy. He later got married to a THAI lady and lived most of the time in TAMIL NADU, MUMBAI, BANGKOK and KUALA LUMPUR while organizing all terrorist overseas assignments and money transferring.

KP, said to have done a plastic surgery to cover his natural appearance speaks fluent Sinhala, Tamil, French and English languages. He was a commerce under graduate student in the University of JAFFNA after he had finished his higher studies at NADESHWAR college in KANKESANTHURAI.

He had joined the LTTE in 1980 and had established the so-called KP branch out side Sri Lanka. Astonishingly, he is one of the very few LTTE terrorists who had not received any military training under the organization.

KP was the brainchild behind planning and execution of overseas arms procurement network and international financial deals. He was solely responsible for purchase of new ships for the LTTE. At present, this terrorist leader was running a boat manufacturing plant in an East Asian country.

On 25th March 1981 he robbed Rs. 7,909,813/= from the People’s Bank in NEERAVELY, JAFFNA while assassinating three Police Constables. He was actively involved in arms smuggling and drug trafficking for collection of LTTE funds. He also had been indicted in the Indian Supreme Court on charges of aiding and abetting the killing of RAJIV GANDHI.

During the peak of WANNI humanitarian operations, KP took an exceptional interest in rescuing his leader, PRABHAKARAN and went to the extent of meeting representatives of well-known international agencies during the latter part of 2008 and just before PRABHAKARAN’s death in WANNI jungles. A few days before PRABHAKARAN’s decimation, he declared that he remains the leader for provisional transnational government of Tamil Eelam.

About This Blog

Velupillai Prabhakaran

The rest of the world might never understand the violence Velupillai Prabhakaran stood for, but its imprint on Sri Lanka is wide and deep. For 26 years, the elusive leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) had waged war with the government to win an independent homeland, or eelam, for the island's Tamil minority. The struggle claimed more than 70,000 lives--including, on May 18, Prabhakaran's. The government says he was killed, along with 17 of his trusted lieutenants, while fleeing an army ambush.

Prabhakaran, 54, was born to a middle-class family on the Jaffna Peninsula. Incensed by discrimination against Tamils and radicalized by a militant grade-school teacher, Prabhakaran founded the LTTE in 1976, a year after a group he headed claimed responsibility for killing Jaffna's mayor. By 1983 the guerrilla movement--which pioneered suicide bombings and the recruitment of child soldiers--escalated the fighting into a civil war.

At the height of his power earlier this decade, Prabhakaran led a de facto government that controlled vast swaths of territory and boasted its own systems of taxes, roads and courts. As the army closed in, he allegedly used thousands of Tamil civilians as human shields. By the final days, just 250 LTTE members remained. They died too, along with the dream of eelam.
