Canadian LTTE Tigers attack Toronto Maha Viharaya again
Suspected Tamil Tigers and remnant members of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) have set fire to the Buddhist Temple in Scarborough, Toronto again to mark their dead leader's birthday, a news report revealed.
Toronto Fire Brigade and Police services have managed to douse the fire.
According to Toronto police the fire was set deliberately using gasoline to start the fire at the back of the temple.
According to Chief Incumbent of the Toronto Maha Viharaya Venerable Ahangama Rathanasiri Thera, damage is estimated in the tens of thousands of dollars.
"I heard a noise at about 1.30 in the morning and saw smoke. Police told me that a Transport Board driver had informed the fire service regarding the fire," he further said.
Prior to this incident, the LTTE Tamils in Toronto set fire to the Maha Viharaya on May 16 this year as the LTTE was nearing its end in Sri Lanka.
