LTTE property rush has begun in Canada
(June 04, Toronto) Recently Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogolagama has said that war with LTTE is over in Sri Lanka and he said now time to dismantle LTTE net work and financial power internationally.
As we every one knows that LTTE has collected large sums of money for their war from Canadian Tamils. Most of this money was collected by extortion or by force but LTTE has not used this full money for war or to upgrade the Tamils civilians who lived under their rule. Most of this money has been invested in Canada itself in Properties and share market. These properties were left with few hands that were very close to LTTE head Pripabharan. Since LTTE head has lost his head at war and war for LTTE properties has begun.
Mr.Thava Ellyathambi is a well known person to most Canadian Tamils. He appeared as an aggressive supporter to Pripabaharan as he used to warship him daily and used to tells people that he is the only leader for the Tamil Community also Eleam is the only Home land for Tamils and Vanni is the only capital for Eleam. His obedience to Pripabharan is not a secrete as he was well looked after by LTTE as he was rewarded with a Shopping Mall named “ North Finch Shopping Center” at Jane and Finch area. Mr. Thava Ellyathambi started his life in Canada as a Century 21 salesman. LTTE also made few more investments in Colombo through him as he now owns few houses and medical clinic in the heart of Colombo in “Cinnamon Garden area”. Also recently he has started a new business to built Wind mill Power Stations. Since LTTE head is dead and gone Mr.Thava Ellyathambi is very much changed his stand and started telling that he is no more with Vanni. But underneath he still a leading man in CTC/WTC and also the first cousin of Mr. David Poobalapillai who originally recommended his name to LTTE to trust and buy properties under his name.
Fight has gone so far now and Mr. Ellyathambi has told his close contacts that he don’t want to hand over properties to new LTTE head “K.P.” who has started taking inventories of assets in overseas.
Meanwhile Mr. Thava Ellyathambi has made a claver move by finding a Sinhalese groom for his daughter and gave his Colombo properties as a dowry to her. As the owners name in the record changed to a Sinhalese name Mr. Thava might have thought he could fool the Sri Lankan intelligence. But information coming from Sri Lanka indicates that government intelligence has already started to inquire in his properties.
Since Mr. Thava Ellyathambi’s latest move some of the other LTTE property holders started to follow him. Mr. Joseph Malan and his wife Gawari Malan are some of them. This couple is holding several properties for LTTE. They also owned a Temple in Toronto west. Both of them join LTTE when they were in Vanni. Their daughter had received arms training in LTTE camps and studied in LTTE Political University in Killinochchi.
Some other people who hold LTTE properties under their names are Mr.Thadasa Navamanikam (Neatham Shan School trustee’s wife), Mr. Das Navaratnam Srinarayanadas –Acquisitions service inc. who hold most properties and business in Colombo, Malaysia and Bangladesh for LTTE. He is a Brother-in-Law of New president of CTC Dr. Sri Ranjan PHD.
In another interesting story happened last Saturday 30th May at Mississauga PEEL Senior Tamil Society Office bearers’ election. After 7 years Mr.Pon Kulendran was unseated from the post of president as he was a very much loyal to head less LTTE head. He was defeated by his opponent Mr. K. Vrapargasam with more than 100 votes. Mr. K. Vraparagasam is a close man to LTTE new head “K.P.” and father of CMR/TVI reporter who is a heavy weight player of WTM.
Mr. Pon. Kulendran is leaving his post while RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) is investigating a fraud at PEEL Senior Tamil Society’s financial statements. According to the information coming in society has no account of what happened to $61000/- they got from Ontario Government Trillium Fund and $108,000/- from New Horizon Grant. The investigation is not completed yet but RCMP has traced money to Vanni through Pizza Depot owner named Senthil Thiruganasambandan. This financial statement was not submitted or approved by treasure of the society. When people inquired about this matter with Mr.Pon Kulendran, he asked them to have a closed door discussion in next week.
