Senior Tiger Hiding in Kodikamam Area Shot Dead

JAFFNA: HAVING being informed about the presence of a few suspected persons in KODIKAMAM area, JAFFNA 522 Brigade troops conducted a special search in the area on Wednesday (24) morning.

As the troops passing IYATTALAI area around 8.00 a.m., troops observed one suspect hiding himself behind a bush and attempting to throw a hand grenade towards them.

However, alert troops instantly opened fire at the suspect and killed him on the spot.

Subsequent information revealed that the suspect killed by the troops was a senior Tiger cadre named SALAPPAN.
Later, troops recovered one micro pistol, two hand grenades, one mobile phone and Rs. 6100/- in cash along with the dead body.
