Hidden LTTE mortar bombs unearthed in Kilinochchi

57 Division troops while engaged in clearing operations in general area at Kilinochchi have unearthed a cache of mortar bombs, rocket propelled grenade(RPG) chargers and anti-personnel(AP) mines, yesterday(Aug 6).

According to finalized military reports received, 64 RPG chargers, 20x 60mm mortar bombs and 1300 multi-purpose machine gun(MPMG) ammunition were found at Visuamadu. Meanwhile, 22x AP mines, 03x improvised explosive devices and an electric mine were also found in a similar clearing operation conducted in general area Murusumoddai.
